STEMawake was founded on a simple yet radical premise: that every child, regardless of their background, possesses an innate curiosity that can change the world. What began as a local workshop initiative in a borrowed community center has evolved into a nationwide movement.
We realized early on that traditional textbooks weren't enough. The rapid pace of technological change required a new kind of pedagogical approach—one that emphasizes agency, critical thinking, and real-world application.

With a PhD in Robotics and over two decades of experience in educational advocacy, Dr. Vance founded STEMawake to democratize access to high-level technical training. Her mission is to dismantle the barriers that prevent marginalized youth from pursuing careers in science and technology.
